Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is a pressure-point massage designed to regulate the flow of energy in the body. Pressure is applied by thumb, fingers, palms, or even in some instances with the feet, to the body’s surface as well as to specific acupoints, to stimulate energy flow and blood circulation. Shiatsu massage produces deep relaxation, increases energy levels, and brings the body back to balance. It is very effective for stress, aches, tension and many other symptoms of modern life. Shiatsu is also very effective for detecting and correcting potential problems. Come for a shiatsu massage session or “energy tune-up”, or to alleviate a painful condition. François practices a form of shiatsu called “Barefoot Shiatsu”, which he learned at the Kushi Institute and by attending seminars by Shizuko Yamamoto. Contrary to many other forms of bodywork, traditional shiatsu is not performed on a massage table, but on a thin futon placed directly on the floor. Loose-fitting cotton clothing is best for receiving a shiatsu massage.
